Why do we watch TV? To learn about what is going on the world, what has happened, or what is going to happen. We watch to see fantastic dunks, insane people, and to forget our real lives. Listed below are what I feel are the best cable stations right now, and as always, I am the Godfather and know all.
Best Cable Channels
1) Weather Channel- How could you not be amazed by the way tornadoes and hurricanes form. Plus I need to know what is going to happen today so I can plan it accordingly
2) HGTV- If you have owned a house or plan to own house, this station is a must watch
3) ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPNNews- The family of networks is a great standby when nothing else is on. Plus I love to see Lebron dunk and see A-Rod scamper around the steroid scandal
4) TBS- For the amount of good (not always great) movies they show, Family Guy, and the full hour of Saved by the Bell on every morning (don't tune in on Fridays though-it's the college years)
5) History Channel- This channel will take you back in time so we can learn from our mistakes, or at least try. Plus who doesn't like watching film on wars

Spring Training Starts Today
Before Spring Training Starts today, I will make my picks for the season. Yes, I know that this is way too early and the signing of Manny Ramirez will probably alter some of these selections, but the Godfather knows all. The Godfather's picks:
AL East
Yankees- how the hell won't they win with all that money they spent this offseason?
Red Sox- what is Penny's mindset? Will he play the entire season?
Devil Rays- Yes, they have some nice pieces in place and made some good signings (Burrell) but the Yankees reloaded and the Red Sox are always tough
Blue Jays- Where are you Joe Carter?
Orioles- Should have traded Brian Roberts for some younger players. Markakis is a good player, but what else do the Orioles have?
AL Central
Indians- Grady Sizemore is a fantastic player, but will Cliff Lee have the same type of season as last year?
Tigers- What happened last year? They were supposed to win it all with their amazing lineup. They will compete for the wild card this year
Twins- quick name three players from the Twins? Yea I can't either, but they are fundamentally sound and with Justin Morneau they are going to be good again
White Sox- Will Ozzie finally go off the deep end?
Royals- Added some players decent players (see Mike Jacobs) but it won't keep them out of the cellar
AL West
Angels- Must stop playing the Red Sox in the playoffs, but with Vlad, these guys are real good
A's- Moneyball will be at play again and with Holliday, the A's will compete
Mariners- Griffey Jr coming back home is a great story, but it won't matter much for the M's
Rangers- Hamilton had a great year last year. Too bad they couldn't have kept Volquez as well
NL East
Phillies- Still have all the key parts and with Jaime Moyer back (yes he's gonna play until he's 60), they should win the East
Mets- Have they solved their bullpen issues? I love Wright, but will Reyes revert back to two years ago
Braves- The east loves old pitchers and with Tom Glavine back, the Braves will, well, what year is it, 1993, right?
Marlins- Young team with talent, but when are they going to keep a player for more than 3 years?
Nats- Thank you Adam Dunn for at least giving DC fans a reason to go to games
NL Central
Cubs- 101 years without a World Series will end this year. Only question, will Bradley make it a full season without any outbursts
Brewers- Oh CC, if only the Brewers would have offered a few more Brats. Still a young team with Ryan Braun will be competitive
Cardinals- Pujolz and Ludwick will have to carry this team
Astros- How many will Carlos Lee hit over the tracks this year?
Reds- Can Edison Volquez pitch every game?
Pirates- I miss Andy Van Slyke and the Buccos. Oh wait, the Pirates still have a team?
NL West
Giants- Why? Because no one else is good. At least the Giants have pitching- old and young...and a HOF hitter in left field- no, not Manny, Fred Lewis- yea right.
Diamondbacks- Solid pitcing with Webb and young players. Will they get back to where they were two years ago
Dodgers- Probably will finish 1st if Manny signs, but rotation is anchored by...Chad Billingsley and Randy Wolf
Rockies- If Larry Walker was paroling right field this would be different. They were in the WS two years ago. How far they have fallen
